Maine’s Adult-Use Marijuana Sales Expected to Begin This Spring

Maine is finally accepting marijuana retailer applications. Battles in the state legislature have delayed official sales of recreational marijuana. Sales should begin this spring.

Applications are being processed and can be completed online, according to WGME 13 News. It isn’t known how long the state expects to take to approve applications. It’s also not known how long the state will take to provide inspections and approvals for brand new marijuana retailers either.

Paul McCarrier of 1 Mill said, “What we’re hoping to see is that this be a Maine-based system much like a lot of our small breweries and we’ve seen that be very successful, so we’re hoping the state will be willing to work hand in hand with us.”
